Author’s Archery Background
Personal Archery Journey
I’ve always been fascinated by archery ever since I was a kid. I remember watching movies and cartoons featuring brave heroes and heroines wielding bows and arrows, and I wanted to be like them. I got my first bow when I was ten years old, and I was hooked. I practiced every day in my backyard, aiming at cans, bottles, and cardboard targets. I joined the school archery club and learned the basics of proper form, technique, and safety.
As I grew older, I wanted to challenge myself more and more. I started to participate in local and regional tournaments, and I was amazed by the level of competition and skill. I met many other archers who shared my passion and enthusiasm, and I learned a lot from them.
I also discovered the thrill of hunting, and I decided to give it a try. The experience of tracking, stalking, and harvesting game with a bow and arrow blew me away. It was a whole different level of archery, and I loved it.
Over the years, I’ve achieved many milestones and goals in my archery journey. I’ve hunted different kinds of animals in different kinds of environments. I’ve improved my skills and knowledge, and I’ve also made many friends and memories along the way.
Expertise Areas
I consider myself an expert in both target shooting and hunting. I enjoy both aspects of archery, and I think they complement each other well. Target shooting helps me improve my accuracy, consistency, and concentration. Hunting helps me develop my patience, stealth, and adaptability. I also like the variety and diversity of both disciplines, as they offer different challenges and rewards.
Target shooting is the art of hitting a fixed target at a known distance with a bow and arrow. Target shooting requires precision, discipline, and focus. It’s a great way to test your skills and compete with others.
Hunting is the sport of pursuing and killing wild animals with a bow and arrow. Hunting requires stealth, strategy, and respect. It’s a great way to connect with nature and enjoy the outdoors.

Archery Philosophy
Archery is more than just a sport or a hobby for me; it’s a way of life. I approach archery with respect, passion, and dedication. I also follow some principles and values that guide my archery practice, especially when it comes to hunting. Here are some of them:
- Ethical considerations in hunting: I hunt for food, not for fun. I only hunt animals that are legal, abundant, and sustainable. I always aim for a quick and clean kill, and I never waste any part of the animal. I also respect the rights and property of other hunters and landowners, and I follow the rules and regulations of the game authorities.
- Focus on safety and responsibility: I always prioritize safety and responsibility when I shoot or hunt. I always check my equipment and gear before I use them, and I always wear appropriate clothing and protection. I also follow the basic safety rules of archery, such as never pointing a loaded bow at anything I don’t intend to shoot, never drawing a bow without an arrow, never shooting an arrow without a clear target and background, and never shooting across roads, trails, or fences. I also respect the safety and well-being of other people, animals, and the environment, and I never shoot or hunt under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- The importance of continual learning and practice: I believe that archery is a lifelong learning process, and I always strive to improve my skills and knowledge. I practice regularly and consistently, and I seek feedback and advice from other archers and coaches. I also read books, watch videos, and attend workshops and seminars to learn new techniques, tips, and trends. I also challenge myself by trying new types of archery, bows, arrows, and targets.
